Prevea surgery for women
Prevea Women’s Care has gynecologic surgeons who are specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of conditions affecting the female reproductive system. Whether your family is complete or you’ve been dealing with a health concern, you can trust Prevea Women’s Care for your surgical needs.
We know you’re busy. That’s why we offer less invasive surgery methods, so you can recover quickly after surgery and return to your normal activities as soon as possible. Our minimally invasive surgery options for women include laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery. These procedures allow some patients to return home the day of surgery, while others spend only one night in the hospital. With most procedures, women can generally resume normal activities in about two weeks or less.
If you’re thinking about surgery, Prevea offers procedures for the treatment of:
- Heavy, painful or irregular periods (bleeding)
- Cysts
- Fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Bladder control concerns
- Bowel control concerns
- Weak bladder muscles
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Pelvic pain
- Scar tissue
- Urinary incontinence, including overactive bladder and stress incontinence
Some of these surgical procedures are performed in the office setting at our Prevea health centers, while others are performed at our partner hospitals in eastern Wisconsin at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
Laparoscopic surgery
During laparoscopic procedures, a small telescope-like instrument called a laparoscope is inserted through a small incision or incisions. The laparoscope then transmits internal images to a video screen where surgeons watch their work.
Robotic surgery
Prevea patients receive the highest quality robotic surgery care, as our providers utilize the da Vinci Surgical System for robotic-assisted surgery.
