BadgerCare Plus is a Medicaid Program that pays for medical care for pregnant women, babies, and children under 19 years of age. It covers most babies until they are one year of age, even if the family’s income increases. Families with health insurance may apply.
Am I eligible for BadgerCare Plus?
Eligibility is based on the family’s gross (before taxes and deductions) income. This includes income from all sources. There is no asset test. Families with higher incomes may qualify if they pay for childcare or have high medical expenses.
What services are covered under BadgerCare Plus?
BadgerCare Plus pays for:
- Office visits and hospital costs
- Prescription drugs
- Delivery of the baby
- Health care (including medical, dental, vision, and counseling) for pregnant women up to 60 days following delivery for children up to age 19
